Calendar error in the Continuous National Household Sample Survey

Description:
An error, detected by the IBGE, related to the non-compliance to the release date set for the Continuous National Household Survey, according to the calendar made available in advance. Considering that visits to selected housing units aiming at data collection have been suspended since March, the conduction of surveys by telephone has been a major challenge, especially regarding the housing units selected ofr a first visit. In order to guarantee the conduction of the interviews, the state department sends letters and telegrams informing that the housing unit was selected for the survey and that, considering the current scenario, the survey has been done by telephone, and the residents are asked to call the IBGE. In addition to that, state coordinators have been adopting other strategies to obtain the telephone numbers associated with those lists of housing units, such as, for example, the use of telephone directories. These measures, however, demand a longer duration in comparison with face-to-face data collection. So, in order to conduct interviews in a bigger number of housing units from the sample, the dates set for the end of data collection and for the release of results were redefined.

Description:
The IBGE identified non-compliance with the release date of the results of the Continuous National Household Sample Survey of the moving quarter of April-May-June 2020, established in the previous schedule. Due to the postponement of the closing of the interviews' database in June, the dissemination of the results will be transferred from 07/29/2020 to 06/08/2020.
Actions: The release date was changed.

Cartographic enhancement of Map of Structural Subprovinces

Description:
Some cartographic elements in the map needed adjustments, for instance, the map labels, legends and the delimitation of the maritime boundaries.
Actions: Previously in Brazilian Portuguese, the names of the countries are now spelled in their original language; New position and curved style lettering for label text that says 'Oceano Atlântico' (Atlantic Ocean) following the sea lines; Label adjustment for 'Limite Estadual' (State limit) which was just 'Estadual' (State) before; Amendment of the class labels for the Group of 'Subprovinces of the Coastal Province and Continental Shore' which were duplicated; Insertion of lateral limits for maritime boundaries.

Amendment of Technical Note of the Annual Survey of Trade (PAC) - 2018

Description:
An error related to the scope of the survey was found in the text of the Technical Note. The text informed that the enterprises covered should have “at least one person employed on December 31 in the reference year of the basic register of the survey”. That sentence was taken out of the document. The other error was found in the calculation of the estimates, where three components of the vector associated to the calibration factor are imprecisely defined. The definition was rewritten in the corrected version.
Actions: The Technical Note of the survey was amended and replaced on the IBGE website.

Error in the labor market indicators in the dissemination tables of PNAD-COVID19 (May 2020)

Description:
An error was identified in the dissemination of all the labor market indicators opened by professional activity. Due to a typing error, the figures related to the category of "Other services" were reported in the category of "Others", without any prejudice to the former.
Actions: The file was amended with the correct figures and the category of "Others" was renamed as "Other activities". The file was replaced in the download area of the survey on the IBGE portal and in the News Agency.

Rectification of the indicator disclosed in the annual table plan of Continuous PNAD concerning the Characteristics of the Housing Units

Description:
Correction in the denominator of the percentage indicator released for the years 2016 to 2018 and in the total of the indicator released for 2019. Now only housing units and residents who have a bathroom, toilet or pit latrine are being considered in the tables, instead of considering all housing units as it was previously.

Error in the data on the number of cases of Covid-19 in Cities@ for five municipalities in the state of Bahia

Description:
A mismacth was identified in the codes of five municipalities in Bahia (Lagoa Real, Laje, Lajedão, Lajedinho and Lajedo do Tabocal) in the Covid-19 cases data file produced by the Ministry of Health. This led to the publication of incorrect numbers for these municipalities in Cities@, since the IBGE reproduces these data from the Ministry's records.
Actions: The information on Covid-19 in Cities@ related to the five municipalities was excluded while the Ministry of Health proceeds the review the mismatched codes.
