ESTADIC - Survey of Basic State Information

About - 2020

The Survey of Basic State Information - ESTADIC is a detailed survey of administrative records on the structure, dynamics and functioning of state public institutions, in particular the State government, also comprising different aspects of sector policies under the responsibility of this governmental sphere . Its results allow for the consolidation of an up-to-date statistical and cadastral database, with indicators forassessing and monitoring the institutional and administrative staff of the Federation Units from a management perspective.

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic that impacted the work routine of IBGE and other public bodies in the country, the data collection for this eighth edition of the survey, which took place between September 2020 and March 2021, was carried out through an editable questionnaire sent by e-mail to state governments.

With this publication, the IBGE releases the results of the survey carried out in 2020 in these 27 federated entities, with the aim of permanently expanding and updating the variables investigated since 2012, when the survey was first published. Organized into five chapters - human resources, housing, transportation, agriculture andenvironment -, the publication presents extensively illustrated analyses with tables, graphs and cartograms in which the most relevant aspects of the results observed in this investigation stand out, as well as comparisons with those obtained in previous surveys.

The publication includes technical notes with methodological considerations about the survey and a glossary with concepts considered essential for understanding its results.

On the IBGE website, in addition to this volume, the complete database of ESTADIC 2020 can also be consulted.

The statistics now disclosed reflect the different realities in the country and contribute to the democratization of public management through the formulation and improvement of differentiated policies for specific demands of populations.
