The series special indexes of physical production of capital goods has been designed with the purpose of providing another instrument of analysis of performance of the sector. It presents the products belonging the Monthly Survey of Mining and Manufacturing Physical Production grouped according to their main destination, generating information about the performance of the production of machines, equipment and parts. The series was started in 2012.

The series special indexes of Dissemination was constructed with the objective of providing one more instrument of analysis of the industrial sector. This indicator shows the percentage of products which indicate increase or decrease, according to the monthly indicator (month compared to same month of the previous year). These series, which began in January 2013, will be updated monthly for the general industry and for the great economic categories.

The series of special indexes of physical production of Household Appliances was designed with the objective of providing one more instrument of analysis of the industrial sector performance. This indicator encompasses items related with production of household appliances. The series started in January 2012.

The series of special indexes of the physical production of Packaging has been developed from a specific section of the Monthly Survey of Industry – Physical Production (PIM-PF), with the objective of expanding the capacity of analysis of a certain segment of industry at short-term. This indicator shows the PIM-PF products identified with the production of packages, generating not only information for the aggregated total, but also by origin (glass, metal, wood, paper and cardboard and plastic material). The series started in January 2012.

The series of special indexes of physical production of Major Economic Categories by Activity was constructed with the objective of providing another instrument of analysis of the performance of the industrial sector. This indicator aggregates the products of each major economic category according to the industrial activity of origin. The series started in 2012.

The series of indicators of physical production by intensity of expenditure on electricity has been designed to offer one more instrument to analyze the sector's performance. Thus, the IBGE presents the products belonging to the Monthly Survey of Industry - Physical Production, according to major economic categories, classified by the participation of expenditures in the purchase of electricity in relation to the value of industrial manufacturing, based on the data from the Annual Survey of Industry – Enterprise 2010. The series began in January 2012.

The special index series of Typical Input for Civil Construction aims at generating information about the production dynamics of the construction sector, providing more elements to portray the evolution of this sector in the short term. Therefore, the PIM-PF products related with the production of the construction sector were joined in the series, which started in January 2012.
