The Statistical Grid of Environmental Data is an experimental module of the BDiA platform that allows the integration of environmental information in a Statistical Grid, which encompasses different environmental inputs and territorial divisions. The integration of the data in a grid allows to query, match, view and produce statistical information to subsidize environmental analyses in the national territory in multiple divisions.

The themes currently available in the Statistical Grid of Environmental Data are:

• Geology
• Geomorphology
• Pedology
• Vegetation
• Biomes
• Susceptibility to landslides
• Land use and cover
• Urbanized areas
• Agricultural potential
• Biodiversity
• Hydrographic regions and basins
• 2010 Census population

The Statistical Grid of Environmental Data is considered experimental and should be used with caution, as it is a product still under test and constant assessment, being published aiming at involving users in the assessment of relevance and quality. In this regard, it should be highlighted that two major aspects should be taken into account: the reference scale of each input of origin and the degree of generalization coming from the processes of discretization and aggregation used to produce the geospatial data. Studies are still underway in the multi-scaling thematics.

The updating periodicity of the Statistical Grid of Environmental Data is every two years and its scope is national.
