The IBGE will release on August 12, 2020 the results of the Tourism module of the Continuous National Household Sample Survey - Continuous PNAD. The data for this module were collected in the third quarter of 2019 in all the households that also answered Continuous PNAD that quarter.
The Tourism survey was carried out under a covenant between the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the Ministry of Tourism (MTur). It aimed at quantifying the flows of national tourists among the different regions of the country and abroad. Travel characteristics were surveyed, which, associated to other investigations, like per capita household income, allow a consistent assessment on the domestic tourism demand. Travel reason, transportation used, lodging place and travel destination, among others, were surveyed. This module produces results for Brazil, Major Regions and, for some inidicators, Federation Units.
