This publication presents the results related to the amount of acquisition of food and beverages, per capita, for consumption at home, in the year, by the Brazilian resident population. The amount of products was obtained through the records reported by the households in each housing unit selected for the survey. The acquisition of food for consumption away from home is not object of this publication.
In addition to this information, the results of the study aimed at pinpointing the reality of the nutritional condition, noticed by the food availability for consumption in the Brazilian households, will be presented The analyses were based on the acquisition of food and beverages for consumption at home, expressed in kilograms, which were transformed into calories, according to the nutritional composition of each product.
