On August 31, IBGE will release "2022 Population Census: Sample microdata" and "2022 Population Census: Weighting areas"

On August 31, at 10 am, the IBGE will release "2022 Population Census: Sample microdata", which includes files, in digital format, with the microdata of the sample of the 2022 Population Census. The microdata are the lowest level of aggregation of the data in a survey, portraying, under the form of numerical codes, the content of the questionnaires in an undentified way, preserving the confidentiality of the information, in accordance with the principles and rules of statistical confidentaility adopted by the IBGE.

The microdata allow users, with knowledge of programming and software specialized in sample data, to create their own tables of results. The microdata will be released in three versions: microdata of public access, submitted to a more rigorous process of statistical control of confidentiality; microdata of controlled access, with more detailed data, whose access will be exclusively for statistical purposes, through authentication on the Gov.br platform and signing of a term of commitment; and microdata of restricted access, which can only be accessed at the IBGE room of restricted access.

On the same date, "2022 Population Census: Weighting areas" will be released, containing files, in digital format, of the final weighting areas of the 2022 Population Census. Weighting areas are the minimal territorial units used for weighting and dissemination of the sample data of the Population Census. These territorial units highlight the spatial dimension and are a reference for the sample results.

Both releases will enclose support and methodological documentation.
