On October 17, IBGE releases, as Experimental Statistics, the Natonal Household Sample Survey: Work through Digital Plaforms 2024

The IBGE will release, at 10:00 am on October 17th, as Experimental Statistics, the Continuous National Household Sample Survey: Work through Digital Platforms 2024. The data collected refers to the main work of employed individuals in the third quarter of 2024 and will allow us to outline the sociodemographic profile of platform workers, as well as the characteristics inherent to their professional practice. This analysis will highlight differences in relation to other employed individuals, with an emphasis on relevant aspects such as hours worked, income, social security coverage, informality, among others. Furthermore, it will be possible to assess these workers' dependence on the amount they receive for their work, deadlines for completing tasks, and client selection, in addition to the influence of platforms in determining their working hours.

This survey considered the following types of digital platforms: private passenger transportation (ride-sharing apps), with a distinction between taxi platforms and other goods delivery platforms; and platforms providing general or professional services.

These statistics are classified as experimental and should be used with caution, as they are innovative indicators, still under test, and continuous evaluation and review.
