On October 10, IBGE releases the Continuous National Household Sample Survey: 2024 Food Security
The IBGE will release the Continuous National Household Sample Survey: 2024 Food Security at 10:00 am, on October 10th. This publication provides statistics that portray the food security situation in households across the country, using the Brazilian Food Insecurity Scale (EBIA) as a methodological framework. This scale allows for the identification and classification of households according to the severity of food insecurity experienced by resident families, thus enabling the estimation of the problem in these housing units. The results include several characteristics of the residents, such as: age composition of the household, according to whether or not there are residents under 18 years of age; sex, race, and education level; and household income.
The Food Security module in the Continuous PNAD results from a partnership with the Ministry of Social Development.
