Experimental Geoscientific Information - General Guidelines
Today, December 17, the IBGE is releasing the publication "Experimental Geoscientific Information - General Guidelines", which describes and guides the preparation, classification and dissemination of geoscientific information as experimental. It also addresses aspects of communication with the interested parties and approaches the ways in which geoscientific information can change its classification as experimental to become recognized as official.
Experimental Geoscientific Information (IGE) is the result of a new or innovative approach. Its maturity is being assessed by the respective production area and its the production process is open to suggestions and reviews by interested parties. The new or innovative approach to geospatial phenomena may result from a new process, new data sources, new methods, or from comprehensive methodological changes, or even a combination of these factors. Interested parties in Experimental Geoscientific Information are can include other producers, researchers and/or information users.
The classification as IGE aims at distinguishing these results and involve interested parties in their production, from the beginning of their planning until after their dissemination, in order to broaden the debate and meet the demands of contemporary society.
The publication can be accessed on https://biblioteca.ibge.gov.br/index.php/biblioteca-catalogo?view=detalhes&id=2102156.
