On August 25 at 10 AM, the IBGE will release, as Experimental Statistics, the study Evolution of Non-Monetary Indicators of Poverty and Quality of Life in Brazil based on the Consumer Expenditure Survey, which shows the evolution of poverty and vulnerability in Brazil from a multidimensional perspective, based on the information of the 2008-2009 and 2017-2018 editions of POF. The study introduces three indexes: Non-Monetary Multidimensional Poverty Index, Non-Monetary Multidimensional Vulnerability Index and Non-Monetary Multidimensional Poverty Index with Relative Component.

The indexes are calculated from individual losses of quality of life, taking into account a wide set of non-monetary indicators distributed along six dimensions: Housing; Access to public utility services; Health and food; Education; Access to financial services and standard of living; and Transportation and leisure. The evolution of the three indexes is shown by geographic division and characteristic of families.

These statistics are classified as experimental and should be used with caution, as they are new statistics still in the test phase and under assessment.
