The Technical Manual for Collection of Geographic Names  deals with the foundations and basic procedures of the methodology for collection of geographic names in the field, considering the institutional experience in projects of reference mapping and treatment of geographic names. The objective is to establish a minimum set of procedures for efficient data collection, thus providing the necessary consistency regarding the nomenclature of the elements mapped, and that can be used by mapping institutions, academic institutions and other sectors of the society that are interested in the toponimic issue. It is worth pointing out this product was not listed among the expected releases in the calendar published in December 2022.
