On April 5, at 10 am, the IBGE will release the Complementary Study to the Application of the Capture-Recapture Technique: Disaggregated estimates of the total live births and deaths of 2015. This technique is applied after pairing up the databases of Vital Statistics (IBGE) and SIM/SINASC (Ministry of Health) to estimate the coverage of the Systems of Vital Statistics.

The disseminated results are a continuance to those already disseminated, with results for the years from 2016 to 2020.

This experimental study brought methodological advance in the production of new indicators, disaggregated by the variables used in the statistical model to estimate the totals of live births and deaths.

The current dissemination will encompass the results for 2015, making them compatible with the time series of the indicators with geographic disaggregation which have also been released.

These statistics are classified as experimental and should be used with caution as they are new and yet undergoing tests and evaluation.
