On November 14, the IBGE will launch another special publication, the Population Census Almanac. Based on a historical narrative coupled with visual resources, the work discusses aspects related to several editions of the Population Census carried out in Brazil, showing readers the reasons, functions, purposes and importance of the decennial enumerations of the Brazilian population. It is the result of a detailed work of historical investigation, though presented in a playful, dynamic and informal way, by matching information and entertainment. The Population Census Almanac is a dissemination tool of the 2022 Population Census and it is one of the actions developed by the IBGE to the celebration of the Bicentenary of the Independence of Brazil.
