On April 28, the IBGE will release Ecosystem Account: 2013-2017 Valuation of Ecosystem Services in Blue Water Provision
On April 28, the IBGE will release, at 10 am, the study on Ecosystem Accounting: 2013-2017 Valuation of Ecosystem Services in Blue Water Provision. This experimental statistics of the Environmental-Economic Accounting was developed with the methodology of the System of Environmental Economic Accounting – Experimental Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EEA) in order to measure the value of the blue water provision service used by the activity “Water Capture, Treatment and Distribution”. Data from the Environmental-Economic Water Accounts (CEAA), the National Sanitation Information System (SNIS) and the National Accounts System (SCN) were used. The study results from a joint effort by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and the National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA), with the support of the European Union and the United Nations, within the scope of the Natural Capital Accounting project and Valuation of Ecosystem Services (NCAVES).
