In compliance with Article 2 of Decreee no. 3,266, of November 29, 1999, releases, annually, up to the first of December, the Complete Life Table for the Brazilian population, relative to the previous year. These data provie information to calculate the the social security factor for the retirement of benefits of persons under the General Social Security Regime. 

The complete Table results from a projection of mortality levels based on the Life Table for year 2010, which included data of the 2010 Population Census, infant mortality estimates based on the same census survey and information about notifications and official records on infant mortality based on the same survey and information on notifications and official records of deaths by sex and age. It is a necessary update procedure when one works with indicators and/or prospective demographic models. Besides, the development of this activity also has the purpose of generating updated parameters of mortality in Brazil that have been incorporated into the Population Projection by Sex and Age for the 2010-2060 (2018).

On the same day of its publicationn on the Official Gazette of November 29 of November 2018, the table of Brazilian population of Brazil for 2017 will be available on the IBGE website (www.ibge.gov.br), together with a brief analysis of results.
