In partnership with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples, the National Indigenous Peoples Foundation (Funai), and the United Nations Population Fund in Brazil (UNFPA), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will launch, on Friday (December 12th), at 10 am, at Funai, in Brasília, the publication “Indigenous Brazil”, which systematizes the main results of the 2022 Population Census on indigenous people and groups. In the afternoon, at the same location, there will be a Seminar on the Use of Census Data on Indigenous Peoples.
Using data from the 2022 Population Census, the publication will present information on Indigenous Peoples, such as sociodemographic and household characteristics, peoples/ethnicities, languages, and spatial distribution.
