On Monday, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will launch the pre-test for the 12th Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture, called CENSO AGRO, in Portuguese, the main statistical survey on agricultural production in mining and quarrying in Brazil.
For the first time, the survey will include information about the 28 segments of traditional peoples and communities, and increase understanding about the territories and modes of production found in the rural part of Brazil.
The launch will take place at two different times:
- at 6 pm, in a combined event in Salvador (BA), the team in charge will present the basic project for the Census of Agriculture and the operating aspects of the pilot test, among other topics; and
- at 7:17 pm, in Belém (PA), the launch of the Census of Agriculture pre-test will take place during the announcement ceremony of the National Sustainable Development Plan of Traditional Peoples and Communities, which is part of the COP30 program.
