This Wednesday, November 12, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release the publication "Protected Areas in the Legal Amazon: an environmental and statistical portrait", directly from Belém do Pará, where the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change – Conference of the Parties (COP30) is taking place.
The study presents data on the vegetation types and the sociodemographic characteristics of the population living in the protected areas in the Brazilian Legal Amazon, offering an integrated and updated view of this territory. The data will be presented remotely by technicians from the IBGE´s Directorates of Geosciences and Surveys. Then the Pará Superintendence team will promote the local dissemination of the study.
The event will take place at Casa Brasil IBGE COP Belém, a space with special programming during the conference period.
