SIRGAS 1995 Realization

The first results of the SIRGAS Project were presented at the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) Scientific Assembly, held at Rio de Janeiro, in September 1997 (click heve to get the report - 3512 Kb). These results represent the most precise continental reference network of South America and one of the most precise worldwide.

This first realization was composed by 58 stations, distributed across the continent and observed with GPS from May 26 to June 4, 1995. The final coordinates of this realization are referred to the most precise reference frame at that moment, ITRF94 1995.4 epoch, thus realizing the SIRGAS system. The GPS observation data collected during this campaign are available protocol at DGFI’s site.
