Summary of Indicators 2006
IBGE presents in this release the results of the National Household Sample Survey relative to the general characteristics of the population, migration, education, labor, families, households and income.
The publication is divided into two parts: the first one presents the indicators for 2005 and 2006 and the income series from 2004 to 2006, with the complete geographic coverage of all the Federative Units, Major Regions and Brazil; the second part presents, in order to reach comparability with results from previous years, retrospective series of income indicators from 1996 to 2006. It is worth mentioning that the information relative to the period 2004 – 2006 represents the geographic coverage of the survey until 2003, that is, without including the rural areas of Rondônia, Acre, Amazonas, Roraima, Pará and Amapá, and that the 2005 results were reviewed due to the adjustments effected in population estimates.
The survey also includes analytical commentaries about population composition and mobility, education, situation of the job market, child labor, social security coverage, union membership, status of incomes, housing conditions and possession of durable goods.
The CD-ROM which comes enclosed with the publication contains the indicators now released and also the material in the Brazil volume of the National Household Sample Survey 2006, as well as information from the table plan prepared for all the levels of PNAD: Brazil, Major Regions, Federative Units and nine metropolitan areas. The CD-ROM also brings revised tabulated information from the 2005 edition of PNAD for all the levels of PNAD.
This group of data represents a valuable instrument to the evaluation of the socio-economic and demographic reality in the country.
