Complete Life Tables - 2007
In accordance with Article 2, from the Presidential Decree 3266 of November, 29, 1999, IBGE has published, annually, Complete Life Tables, relative to the previous year, on the first working day of December each year.
Life Tables 2007 is an estimate based on the mortality rates calculated for the years 1980, 1991 and 2000, which resulted from a long discussion during a workshop featuring technicians of the Department of Population and Social Indicators (COPIS/DPE/IBGE) and of the Latin American and. Caribbean Demographic Center (CELADE/CEPAL/UNO), carried out from March, 24 to 28, 2003, in Santiago, Chile.
The Life Tables calculated for year 2000 includes population data from the 2000 Population Census, the infant mortality rate based on information from the same event and the death statistics from the Civil Register relative to the three-year period, 1999 - 2001.
