Preliminary Synopsis of the 2000 Population Census 2000
This single-volume publication presents preliminary data of the 2000 Population Census, with information about the population in Brazil and in its metropolitan areas. It includes comparative tables showing previously-conducted censuses, as well as resident population and households, by Federation Units and municipalities. The results obtained from questionnaires answered in the households are subject to a period of data correction.
Each Federation Unit brings two maps which present the distribution of urban and rural resident population and the population growth rate.
It presents an analysis of the Brazilian population dynamics, by evaluating the growth, the concentration and the sex ratio of the population, as well as their housing conditions and the average number of household members. The publication includes the survey methodological notes, besides a table with the municipalities created since January 2001 and their original municipalities with their respective populations.
Besides these results, the CD-ROM which is included in the publication presents data grouped by Federation Units and subdivided by municipalities and districts.
