Through this publication, the Directorate of Surveys of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics makes available to users a summary of social indicators relative to the population and households in Brazil , which have been obtained through data from Demographic Census 2000.
The information, presented as tables and graphs, provide elements which lead to the knowledge of some important social and economic aspects of the population's life conditions.
This publication is one more step taken by IBGE towards the production and systematization of social statistics and represents a valuable contribution to the dissemination of information to the 5 561 Brazilian municipalities.
