Gross Domestic Product of Municipalities 2003-2006
IBGE, in partnership with State Statistical Organizations and State Secretariats presents, in this publication, estimates for the Gross Domestic Product – GDP of Municipalities, which has year 2002 as its initial reference.
The publication shows the results for value added, at current prices, of the three major sectors of economic activity - Agriculture, Industry and Services - and also the series of value added of public administration, health and education and social security, GDP and GDP per capita for the period 2003-2006, and also selected tables for all the Brazilian municipalities, relative to 2006. The analysis of results, illustrated with graphs and maps, highlights some economic aspects of national and regional coverage.
The publication also includes annexes with the Gini Index of economic activity by Major Regions and federative Units, in 2006, among other data of methodological nature, and a glossary with the terms and concepts considered relevant to the understanding of results.
The methodology and the database of the GDP of Municipalities are completely integrated to the new series of National Accounts and Regional Accounts of Brazil, and its results are compatible with the National Classification of Economic Activities – CNAE 1.0.
These data can also be found on the IBGE web site. The CD-ROM which comes enclosed with the publication presents, besides the information in the printed volume, the database by municipality and year, for the period 2002-2006.
