Industrial Survey - Enterprise - 2006
This publication gathers a group of financial and economic information which contribute to the estimate of basic structural characteristics of the industrial activity in the country, and also to monitor its evolution over time.
It presents, among other aspects, data about employed persons, salaries, withdrawal and other compensation, value added and value of manufacturing. The analysis, focused on big industrial companies, with at least 250 persons employed, is divided into three sections: the first one is related to the overall results of the survey universe; the second presents the main features of big companies, based on selected variables such as number of employed persons, salaries, expenditure with personnel, net revenue of sales and value of manufacturing, and on some indicators such as productivity and cost of work; the third section deals with the evolution observed in these big companies, in the years 1996, 2000 and 2006, mainly concerning the performance of the companies with 1 000 or more persons employed. The results for this segment also include sector and regional analysis.
The publication includes technical notes about methodological aspects of the survey and annexes containing the National Classification of Economic Activities relative to industry. The CD-ROM which comes enclosed with the publication contains, besides the information contained in the printed volume, the updated table plan for the enterprises with over 30 persons employed, year by year, from 1996 to 2005, and a group of tables for companies with over 30 persons employed, since 1996, increasing, therefore, the possibilities to explore the survey database.
This group of information represents the most complete source of statistics about the productive structure of the industrial sector in Brazil, and provides to governmental and private organizations subsidies for the planning and decision-making process and to users in general, data for more detailed sector studies.
Methodological information can be obtained in the publication Annual Industrial Survey: Enterprise, of the Methodological Reports series.
