Annual Survey of Construction Industry - 2007

This publication gathers a group of economic and financial information which allows the estimation of basic structural characteristics of the construction sector in the country, at the same time it monitors the evolution of this same segment in time.

It presents, among other aspects, data relative to employed persons, salaries, costs and expenses, revenue and value of construction services performed. The analysis illustrates the potentialities of the survey database, and is divided into three sections. The first one shows overall survey results in 2007, indicating the main investments and construction material consumed by companies belonging to this sector; the second one highlights, based on selected indicators, aspects concerning employment, wages and productivity of companies with 5 or more persons employed, by Major Region and Federative Unit in 2003 and 2007; the third one deals with the cost of construction services rendered by such companies, in nominal terms, having year 2006 as reference.

The publication also includes technical notes about methodological aspects of the survey and an annex containing the National Classification of Economic Activities relative to construction industry. The CD-ROM enclosed with the publication contains, besides information in the printed volume, the updated table plan for years 2005 and 2006, allowing, this way, better use of the results presented.
