Annual Survey of Services 2006
This publication gathers a group of economic and financial information which contribute to the estimates of basic structural characteristics of non-financial service activities.
The survey presents, for the country, information about revenue, expenditure, employed persons, wages, withdrawals and other compensation, and value added, among other aspects, especially for companies with 20 or more persons employed. It also includes regionalized data regarding the distribution and configuration of this economic sector covering the following segments: services rendered to families, information services, services rendered to companies, transportation and auxiliary services to transportation and mailing activities, real estate activities and rent of real estate and of goods; maintenance and repair services; and other services. The results are complemented with commentaries focusing on the main classes of activities of the services sector in Brazil, in 2006, and on the most relevant sector and spatial changes between the years 2000 and 2006, for companies with 250 or more persons employed.
The publication includes technical notes about methodological aspects of the survey and annexes presenting the list of activities of the National Classification of Economic activities – CNAE 1.0. The CD-ROM enclosed with the survey brings, besides the data contained the printed volume, updated data for 2005.
These results are also available on the IBGE web site.
These data represent a valuable source of information of statistics about the structure of the services sector, with information for public and private planning, aimed at the academic community and the public in general.
