Annual Survey of Services - 2005
This publication presents information on the economic and financial situation which allow to estimate the basic structural characteristics of the enterprise segment of the activity of non-financial services.
It presents for the total of the Country, information about revenues, expenditures, employed persons, wages, withdrawals and other compensations, and value added, among other aspects, especially for companies with 20 or more employed persons. Also includes regionalized data regarding the distribution and configuration of this economic sector covering the following segments: services rendered to families, information services, services rendered to companies, transportation and auxiliary services of transportation and mailing, real estate activities and renting of real estate and material goods; maintenance and repair services; and andother services.The results have commentaries which focus on the main classes of activities of the sector of services in Brazil, in 2005, and the more relevant sectorial and spatial changes which occurred between the years 2000 and 2005. For this purpose, the Index of Structural Change was used for the variables employed persons and value added, being identified the segment of services and the Brazilian regions which mostly contributed for the main changes observed in this period.
It constitutes an important source of statistics about the structure and functioning of this kind of activity, providing information for the public and private planning, as well as for the academic community and public in general.
