National Classification of Economic Activities
The CNAE is the classification officially used by the Statistics National System in the production of statistics by type of economic activity, and by the Public Administration, in the identification of economic activity in registers of legal entities.
This publication presents the structure of the version 2.0 of the CNAE, the principles of the organization, the definitions and rules of application, the explanatory notes of the content of the categories and the correspondence between the CNAE 2.0 and the previous version 1.0 and the International Standard Industrial Classification – Review 4.
The data now released are also available in the CD-ROM enclosed in the publication.
The CNAE is a fundamental tool in the production of socioeconomic information in the Country.
