Use of Pesticides in the State of Paraná: Harvest 1998/1999
The IBGE, in partnership with the State Department of Agriculture and Supply of Paraná, conducted a primary survey about the use of pesticides in the agricultural establishments of the state based on the operational and methodological structure adopted in the survey Forecast and Follow-Up of Harvests - PREVS.
This publication presents the results of the research, relative to the crops of cotton, cassava, corn and soybeans. It includes information about the rural areas with application of pesticides and formulated quantity, frequency of use, form and local of acquisition of these inputs and use according to the prescribed recommendations, influence of the agronomists in relation to the choice of the product, use of equipment of individual protection, intoxication cases and medical assistance, as well as the use of other farm practices to control diseases, among other features.
The information obtained offers a diagnosis of the reality of the state of Paraná in relation to the use of pesticides in the farm sector, serving as a reference to the proposal and development of actions aiming at the environment managing of the impacts caused by such inputs, also to other states.
