We are working on our Web in English.
It was launched in January, 1997.
We intend to have this Web in English similar to our Web in Portuguese in the future.
Meanwhile it is possible to access a lot of information on our Web Portuguese pages if
you know a little of the Portuguese language.

Statistical Information
Here you can see the "Indicadores Conjunturais" (several economic indicators and similar monthly statistics), "Censos" (many prepared tables from the 1991 demographic census), "Censos 1996" (the results from the 1996 Population Census , the 1996 Agricultural Census) and Historical Data of Census ", PNAD" (some tables from the Brazilian Household Survey), "PIA" and "PAIC" ( some tables from Industry and Commerce Surveys) and the "POF"(Family Budget Survey).
Geoscientific Information
Main territorial characteristics of each one of the Brazil's states.
File Transfer
Here you can transfer different types of files to your microcomputer. We have the following types:
- "Arquivos" - This directory contains specific files. This kind of file has a text explaining the file content and the correspondent data file you need. The data files are in ZIP mode generally.
- "Mapas" - This directory contains many maps (JPG or GIF formats). You can see them using the left button or save them with the right button of the mouse.
- "Tabelas" - This directory contains several prepared tables (XLS format) from many surveys. There is always a file (TXT format) describing the data file contents you need. The data files are in ZIP mode generally.
- "Textos" - This directory contains many interesting texts. When the text is short you can print it otherwise you can transfer the file in Zip mode.
- "Programas" - This directory contains a few demo programs to present them to the public. If you want to purchase some ask our webmaster what is necessary to do.
- "PNAD" - This directory contains files with data from the Brazilian Household Survey. The data files are in ZIP mode.
- "Cartogramas" - This directory contains a lot of thematic maps. The data files are in ZIP mode.
Database Access
It is possible to access our aggregate database, even though you have not a good Portuguese knowledge.
When you enter the first page of our database we have interesting prepared tables (shortcuts from many tables).
