IBGE will release, on May 17, 2022 Population Census: Literacy: Population Results, with information about literacy rates and its counterpart, illiteracy rates, for the population aged 15 and over. These data show an overview of education characteristics for the population in the country.

The release will present results for Brazil, Major Regions, Federation Units and Municipalities, disaggregated by color or race, Indigenous persons, sex and age of residents. The results will be available on the IBGE and platforms such as SIDRA, and also at the Census Overview and the Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI), where data can be visualized by means of interactive maps.
