As part of the II Meeting, it will be possible to present works about the production, coordination, dissemination and use of statistical and geographical information. Works discussing the analysis of information must be focused on matters related to the availability, quality and use of the information on the topic, and not only on the interpretation of results.

Whoever is interested in participating may submit works done in partnership or individually. These works will be examined by evaluators indicated by the Organizing Committee, and may be selected to take part in the event and for a presentation between the 21st and 25th of August, 2006.

The submitted works must be in accordance with the general theme of the II Meeting, and the responsible author must indicate, for each work sent:

a) under which of the topics listed in the chart "List of Topics for the Free Sessions", the work must be placed; and

b) in what format they intend to make the presentation (orally or using posters); in both cases, only complete works will be considered, because there will not be submission of summaries separately

Works may be submitted from May 8 to June 19, 2006, through a form available on the Meeting web page. Below you will find the detailed schedule for this specific activity. There is not going to be financing of the event for free works selected to be presented. Therefore, their authors must seek financing from their own organizations or support institutions.

May 8 - Start of the submission process through the IBGE web site

June 19 - End of the period for submission of works

July 24 - Release of results and works selected to be presented

Instructions for the submission of works:

The submission of complete works will be done online, from May 8 to June 19, 2006. Summaries must not be submitted separately.

•  The editorial rules for the formatting of works are already available. The limit size is 15 A4 pages, according to the specified format. The copy of the documents sent will be done directly from the originals sent by digital means. Therefore, authors are entirely responsible for their content.

•  The submmitted works will be sent to qualified evaluators to be analyzed. However, the final decision about the acceptance of these same works or not will depend on the Organizing Committee.

•  In case there are any difficulties in the submission of works, please contact the Organizing Committee: confesteconfege@ibge.gov.br.

•  The authors will receive the reply concerning the selection of works from the 24 of July on. In addition, the list of works selected for the free sessions will be available online from this date.

•  If the work does not fit any of the topics described, but the authors find it relevant to be presented in the II Meeting, it must be submitted to Group 9 - Other topics related to the production, management, dissemination and use of statistical and geographical information.
